Readers, as I do try to caution each of you from this space when the time is appropriate, cherish the time you have with our onscreen talent. None of them lasts forever, and you never known when you're going to wake up one day only to find that we've lost another one.
Arleen Sorkin was born in 1955. A quick look at her IMDB.com resume might suggest that -- curious -- she didn't have all that many screen credits. In fact, one might conclude that a scant thirty-two different citations wasn't all that much ... but oh how wrong that would be for those of us who loved one of the greatest creations of Batman villainy to come down the pike in the last few decades? Sorkin voiced the cheesily nefarious Harley Quinn for the better part of the lady's animated life, and nothing in live action -- including the very good turn by Barbie superstar Margot Robbie -- really touches the same level of greatness. Sorkin was there in those early days, and with her sharp characterization definitely helped lift what could've been a maudlin sidekick to the Joker to the level of respect and admiration it deserved.
Our very warmest thoughts and prayers are extended today to the family, friends, and fans of Ms. Sorkin. May she forever rest in peace.
