Can you see that? Can you see that -- along with that tiny imperfection in the Number 2 above -- we've managed to eek out an incredible 102 different trivia citations for the day? Can you believe it? Can you frakkin' believe it? Why, that's an astonishing amount of data -- if I do say so myself -- and I just glanced into the day's archives and learned that I've an incredible amount more waiting for mention ... if I can just find the free time to get it all up there!
Wowza!
For those of you who don't know it, I'd originally worked very hard on the entire month of December because -- well -- it's my birthday month, and I did want it to be a bit special if for no other reason than to commemorate (sp?) my efforts. There's nothing wrong with a measure of pride in one's work, and here's hoping that I live long enough to get everything I've uncovered with scads and scads and scads of research up in this space. Seriously: I surprise even myself some days with all that I've in my files, and I do know that a few of you who frequent these corners of the Information Superhighway do enjoy this exchange as much as I. So hats off to each of us in our shared appreciation of Science Fiction, Fantasy, Horror, and even more!
In case you missed it, I did post a pretty hefty look back into my thoughts regarding 1979's urban thriller The Warriors yesterday (review is here), and -- of course -- I realize that isn't so much related to a great deal of what's up here. However, I stated in the opening that from time-to-time I do wander outside the lines -- especially as it relates to interesting new content -- and The Warriors remains one of the vivid yarns on my youth at the movies ... so there. I hope you can appreciate my column as much as you do the other substance I share, and I'm glad that you'll allow me these other indulgences.
However, I'm busy with the wifey today so I will not be able to get up any other new posts beyond this one. We've got something fun planned, and it's something I look forward to annually. Also, tomorrow, I'm tied up with my volunteer gig all day, so I probably won't have anything fresh and inviting up. I give you my word that I'll try to get the daily post up ... but even that may not quite fit into a very tight schedule.
So ... in the meantime ...
As always, thanks for reading ... thanks for sharing ... thanks for being a fan ... and live long and prosper!
