You did it! You made it through another week of grinding work only to arrive at the weekend once more! And you know what that means! Food! Drinks! Wine! Women! Song! And a good time should be had by all!
Aaaaaah ... back to business ...
Not a whole lot to report for today. I had to take one of the kitties to the vet for a shot. I think the cat's dealing with a bit of feline ataxia, but the vet seems to think it might just be the onset of arthritis (sp?). What do I know? So they wanted to give Jo another shot of this special meds to see if another 30 days might show a different result. It's sad to watch a pet in decline -- no matter what ails them -- but I soldier ever onward.
Otherwise, there's a bit to behold on August 11th. I did look at the page yesterday, and I was reminded of the great work Stuart Gordon brought to genre entertainment. He was a bit of a mad genius when it came to adapting the works of H.P. Lovecraft to something, and I've no doubt that will always be his enduring legacy. His Robot Jox (1989/1990) remains a feature that I think it was the better B-Movies to emerge from the 1980's; if you've not seen it, then you're missing something special.
But here it is ... in all of its glory ...
Otherwise, I have a chance to see Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace on the silver screen tomorrow, and I'm thinking I'll take it. No, no, and no: it's certainly not one of my favorite Star Wars films -- by any stretch of the imagination -- but you don't get to see something that visually stunning on the big screen all that often, so I don't think I can pass it up.
As always, thanks for reading ... and live long and prosper!
