Admittedly, I had some issues with Ridley Scott's last adventure, Prometheus (2012), most of which are owed to the fact that the director himself never quite made it clear if he intended for it to continue building upon the mythology or stand alone within the same universe. (I tend to think it was the latter, in which I case I couldn't help but ask "why" over and over again.) The script was tepid with characters and ideas not quite clearly developed, but it certainly was a slickly produced effort worthy of the time and discussion of SciFi fans. Sometimes, that's the best we can hope for in this modern era.
