Horror features tend to be the most successful in delivering big things for those who come exploring, especially if all you're looking for is to be scared silly. As I've always said, Horror flicks tend to be reasonably affordable ventures; and because there's always an audience willing to plunk down a few bucks in exchange for 90+ minutes the prospect for a solid return on investment (for filmmakers, anyway) remains high. God bless us, our haunts!
Doing a bit of research this morning, I stumbled across a little something something titled So Cold The River, and, yeah, the title alone caught my eye. Checking into it a bit further, it certainly seems to be one of Horror's cautionay tales: our protagonist doesn't realize what danger she's unlocked after she goes hunting for answers. I do so love those stories.
Here's the plot summary as provided by IMDB.com:
"A documentary filmmaker's research on a town's mysterious benefactor unearths an unexplained evil while staying at a local resort."
Written and directed by Paul Shoulberg, the film stars Bethany Loy Lenz, Alysia Reiner, and Katie Sarife. It looks to premiere theatrically and digitally on March 25.
