Folks, I was reading some entertainment news just this morning, and I caught the announcement of award-winning actor, writer, and producer Christian Oliver has tragically perished along with his two daughters when their private plane went down not long after take-off in the area of Puerto Rico. Apparently, the pilot called in to the tower, explaining that they were experiencing some difficulties, and the craft plummeted into the waters not long after. This is very sad news, indeed.
I went over to IMDB.com for a quick review of the man as it wasn't one I was initially familiar with. However, he's actually done an impressive amount of genre work, including roles in such properties as Sliders, A Light In The Forest (2003), and the oft-maligned Speed Racer (2008) theatrical adaptation which I honestly quite liked. It looks like around that time, Oliver added the producing responsibilities to his resume, giving him the chance to obviously get more involved personally with bringing films to the screen while also appearing in front of the camera. House Of Good And Evil (2013), The Outer Wild (2018), and Animal Among Us (2019) were among such entries. (Both House Of Good And Evil and Animal Among Us appear to have performed well on the film festival circuit.)
In 2016, he brought to life the role of 'Werner von Braun' for an episode of NBC's popular serial Timeless.
