Did you see that?
DID YOU SEE THAT?!?!
80 different genre trivia citations? And it's only January 1st?
Wow.
Yes, folks. Some days it's best to toot my own horn, and on days like today that's what I'm apt to do. There's nothing wrong with a bit of pride, so long as it never gets in the way of one's efforts to try even harder tomorrow; and that's how I like to think of myself when I put on my SciFiHistorian hat. Keep searching for more ... but never forget to shout a bit of praise from time-to-time.
Now -- in fairness -- there are a few inclusions for the day that aren't 100% authentic, and let me explain. In the pursuit of facts, some references are unfortunately lost to history. Culturally, we haven't always done a good job of preserving the details, and that's the case with a few of the highlighted film releases on this day: I'm unable to locate the measure of specificity needed, so I go with the closest configuration that's humanly possible. I do this because I don't want to pass up the chance to celebrate a film because I can't find the exact date in January it was released on -- when I do, I'll naturally update the site -- but, in the meantime, the only way I can still draw attention to some of these quieter releases is to just give 'em a date ... and the first of each month works about as well as any. So a few of the motion pictures were released in this month in history but perhaps not this particular day.
Deal with it. I have. And I've a better person for including them as opposed to others who'd ignore them.
Still, there's more -- at 80 citations there's a lot more -- and I encourage you to head on over to the page and check it out:
As always, thanks for reading ... thanks even more for sharing ... thanks even more for being a fan ... and live long and prosper!
