Sorry, folks, but I know little about this one and haven't stumbled across much relating to it in my research, but on this day back in 2016 a little something something called The Aliens enjoyed its premiere in the United Kingdom.  Here's what the series' plot summary was as provided by our friends at IMDB.com:

"Nearly 40 years ago aliens crash-landed in the UK. They look like us, but are forced to live in a ghetto. Border control officer Lewis falls in love with one."

As much as I enjoy vintage Science Fiction tales, the 2002 version of H.G. Wells' The Time Machine -- it premiered on this day back then, and it starred the usually reliable Guy Pearce and Orlando Jones -- was surprisingly uninspired.  To its credit, it tried to retain the spirit of the H.G. Wells novel, but I thought it mostly tepid.  Here's hoping there will be another version in my lifetime that'll set the record straight.

Fans of old school Flash Gordon are likely to recognize the lovely Priscilla Lawson -- a former "Miss Miami Beach" -- who appeared in the 1936 serial as 'Princess Aura.'  Though she's no longer with us, Lawson was born on this day in 1914.  [Source: IMDB.com]

Holy moly!  Can you believe it: the lovely Cyd Charisse at one time had a five million dollar insurance policy on her legs?!  Those are quite some gams!  Alas, they weren't exactly on full display when she played a role aboard Warlords of the Deep (aka Warlords of Atlantis) in 1978.  Though she's no longer with us, Charisse was born on this day in 1921.  [Source: IMDB.com]

Certainly Alan Hale Jr. is well remembered as 'The Skipper Jonas Grumby' aboard both Gilligan's Island and its animated SciFi counterpart Gilligan's Island, but he also guested aboard Irwin Allen's Land of the Giants.  Though he's no longer with us, Hale Jr. was born on this day in 1921.

With nearly six decades in the entertainment business, Booth Colman leaves behind a resume of almost 200 different screen roles.  Fans know him best from work aboard Them (1954), The Outer Limits, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, The Invaders, Planet of the Apes (TV), Time Travelers (1976), Project UFO, Galactica 1980, and Star Trek: Voyager.  Though he's no longer with us, Colman was born on this day in 1923.

In the latter half of his career, Sean McClory assumed a guest spot aboard ABC TV's popular Battlestar Galactica.  Though he's no longer with us, McClory was born on this day in 1924.

Ay carumba!  Paddi Edwards went and almost got herself 'man-handled' by Lieutenant Worf in the second season outing of Star Trek: The Next Generation, "The Dauphin."  Nifty little trivia extra: the actress actually provided the voice of 'Gozer' in Ghostbusters (1984).  Though she's no longer with us, Edwards was born on this day in 1931.  [Source: IMDB.com]

Picture
In Colossus: The Forbin Project (1970), actress Susan Clark proved that even geniuses are willing to take it all off ... for science, that is.  (You'll have to watch the flick for the popular scene.)  Clark was born on this day in 1940.

Picture
The terrific Peter McCauley played a key role aboard the syndicated SciFi/Fantasy program The Lost World.  McCauley was born on this day in 1950.

Picture
One of the more beautiful creatures known to man -- aka Playboy centerfold Kathy Shower -- gave SciFi a look with the curiously titled Robo-C.H.I.C. (aka Cyber-C.H.I.C.) back in the 1990's.  Shower was born on this day in 1953.

Veteran character actor John Kapelos boasts a resume of nearly 200 different screen credits, but genre fans probably know him best for his appearances in Weird Science (1985), Quantum Leap, Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, Forever Knight, The Relic (1997), Timecop (TV), First Wave, The X-Files, Mimic: Sentinel (2003), Gemini Division, and Syfy's Lost Girl.  Kapelos was born on this day in 1957.

Picture
Arguably one of the toughest ladies in film, the lovely Cynthia Rothrock maintains a resume in a wealth of respectable genre projects, including a recent foray alongside SciFi's Casper Van Dien in Star Raiders: The Adventures of Saber Raine for Gravitas Ventures.  Rothrock was born on this day in 1957.

Since launching a career in the entertainment industry, Barbara Eve Harris has turned up in such genre properties as TekWar: TekJustice (1994), The Outer Limits, 10.5: Apocalypse, The Amazing Spider-Man (2012), Transformers: The Last Knight (2017), and The Crossing.  Harris was born on this day in 1959.  [Source: IMDB.com]

I ask you: "If you're gonna bring a property as good as Jonah Hex (2010) to the silver screen, then why wouldn't you at least give it a good script?"  Meh.  The film wasn't awful, I suppose, but it did waste too many great performers -- like Aidan Quinn as President Grant -- with B-movie shenanigans.  Quinn was born on this day in 1959.

Picture
Camryn Manheim joined CBS's Extant in a role that made all of red-blooded mankind jealous: as the picture indicates, she got to play doctor with Halle Berry!  Manheim was born on this day in 1961.

Picture
The multi-talented Meredith Scott Lynn has really only dabbled in SciFi's rich waters, securing roles aboard Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman and Roswell.  Lynn was born on this day in 1970.

Picture
For all intents and purposes, Andrea Parker's work as 'Miss Parker' was one of the best reasons to watch the SciFi-lite The Pretender when it was part of NBC's television line-up.  Parker was born on this day in 1970.

Picture
Galaxy Quest (1999) is a genius SciFi/Comedy that holds up even after multiple viewings, largely because it's filled with so many great performances, big and small.  Jed Rees played a role in the flick, and Rees was born on this day in 1970.

Picture
Matt Nable's resume over on IMDB.com is relatively light at this point in his career, but he did star alongside no less than Vin Diesel in 2013's underwhelming Riddick sequel.  He's also booked appearances as Ras al Ghul on the CW's Arrow series, and that's no small feat either!  Nable was born on this day in 1972.

Picture
I think I've seen every movie in the Resident Evil universe, but -- to be honest -- they all kinda/sorta blend together for me.  However, I always appreciate the testosterone-fueled performances, and Boris Kodjoe's certainly qualifies.  He braved this particular Apocalypse alongside Milla Jovovich in Resident Evil: Afterlife and Resident Evil: Retribution.  As far as SciFi goes, he also strapped on the requisite bug-killing-gear for his work in Starship Troopers 3: Marauder.  Kodjoe was born on this day in 1973.

Picture
Without mincing words, let me state this unequivocally: I don't think Freddie Prinze Jr. is the greatest actor of his generation.  In fact, I've been suitably underwhelmed every time I've seen him.  Still, he's always had a workmanlike approach to his work, and methinks everyone can respect that.  Prince lent his voice to the character of Kanan, the lost Jedi on Disney's first foray into the universe built by George Lucas, Star Wars: Rebels.  Prince was born on this day in 1976.  [Source: IMDB.com]

God bless those who make feature films in Science Fiction: because of these films, fans can rest assured that when the new Ice Age arrives as it did in Arctic Blast (2010) we'll love ladies like Alexandra Davies to keep us warm.  She also turned up the heat with a role aboard the TV Fantasy BeastMaster.  Davies was born on this day in 1977.  [Source: IMDB.com]

Picture
The lovely Reagan Pasternak deserves your undivided attention.  She's been seen aboard PSI Factor: Chronicles of the Paranormal, Earth: Final Conflict, Mutant X, and Savage Planet (2007).  Pasternak was born on this day in 1977.

Picture
I do find televised fiction somewhat refreshing when they take real-life hunks and drop them down in full-geek scripts, the kind of which the TV miniseries The Storm presented for James Van Der Beek.  Van Der Beek was born on this day in 1977.

Picture
Nick Zano plays the time-traveling historian 'Nate Heywood' (aka Steel) aboard the CW's superhero drama, DC's Legends of Tomorrow.  Zano was born on this day in 1978.  [Source: IMDB.com]

German actress Lavinia Wilson enjoyed a supporting role in Æon Flux (2005) for Paramount Pictures.  Wilson was born on this day in 1980.  [Source: IMDB.com]

Actress and voiceover specialist Lisa Jay has contributed to the greater worlds of Buffy The Vampire Slayer as well as Capcom's Lost Planet 3.  Jay was born on this day in 1981.  [Source: IMDB.com]

I've yet to see 2015's Identicals, a SciFi/Romance that came and went from theatres fairly quickly; but I've been told that Nora-Jane Noone is one of the best reasons to watch it.  Noone was born on this day in 1984.

Picture
The lovely Milana Vayntrub played in the cosmos for laughs as part of the cast for the web-based comedy Other Space during 2015.  Vayntrub was born on this day in 1987.

The Flash has become my favorite superhero program of late, so kudos to actor Devon Graye for his willingness to visit that world in the guise of The Trickster!  Graye was born on this day in 1987.

Young Stephanie Arcila explored the prospect of 'life out there' versus 'life down here' aboard the Indie/SciFi flick The Aliens (2017).  Arcila was born on this day in 1990.  [Source: IMDB.com]

A star is born!  On this day in 1964 (per Google.com), The Last Man On Earth showed his face cinematically.  The feature starred Vincent Price and Emma Danieli, and here's the plot summary from IMDB.com:

"When a plague devastated life on Earth, the population died or became a sort of zombie living in the dark. Dr. Robert Morgan is the unique healthy survivor on the planet, having a routine life for his own survival: he kills the night creatures along the day and maintains the safety of his house, to be protected along the night. He misses his beloved wife and daughter, consumed by the outbreak, and he fights against his loneliness to maintain mentally sane. When Dr. Morgan finds the contaminated Ruth Collins, he uses his blood to heal her and he becomes the last hope on Earth to help the other contaminated survivors. But the order of this new society is scary."

For the record: For those unaware, yes, this is an early adaptation of the Richard Matheson novel, "I Am Legend," which inspired both The Omega Man (1971) and I Am Legend (2007).  I've read somewheres (I couldn't say now) that, originally, Fritz Lang was attached to direct but had to bow out before production began.

Picture
A star is born!  On this day in 1978, the Fantasy/Telefilm The Amazing Captain Nemo (aka The Return Of Captain Nemo) rose up from the depths.  The feature starred José Ferrer and Burgess Meredith, and here's the plot summary as provided by our friends at IMDB.com:

"Two US Navy divers discover the Nautilus trapped underwater, with Captain Nemo in suspended animation inside for the last century. Once Nemo is revived, the government makes a deal with him to refit his ship with a few modern technologies in exchange for his helping to defeat Professor Cunningham, a mad genius threatening to destroy Washington with a missile from his own submarine unless he is paid a billion dollars. Later, Nemo continues and completes his search for the sunken city of Atlantis, delayed 100 years by his long time in stasis."

Picture
On this day in 1986 (in Japan), Baby: Secret Of The Lost Legend enjoyed its run through theaters.  According to our friends at IMDB.com, here's the plot summary:

"A paleontologist and her husband discover a mother and baby brontosaurus in Africa, and try to protect them from a group of hunters intent on capturing the dinosaurs."

Picture
A star is born!  On this day in 2011, Battle Los Angeles enjoyed its limited theatrical premiere in Westwood, California, making this its first theatrical engagement ever.  Written by Christopher Bertolini and directed by Jonathan Liebesman, the SciFi/Actioner starred Aaron Eckhart, Michelle Rodriguez, and Bridget Moynahan.  According to our friends at IMDB.com, here's the plot summary:

"Los Angeles and other cities around the world are being bombarded by meteors that seem to be slowing down once they hit the earth's atmosphere. The earth is suddenly being invaded by space aliens that have landed off the shore of LA, and who begin killing everybody along the beach. The military is ordered into action. Marine Staff Sergeant Nantz (Aaron Eckhart), who was about to retire, is reassigned to a new platoon. The platoon, flown by chopper to the forward operating base at Santa Monica Airport, is being led by a new 2nd Lt. Martinez (Ramon Rodriguez). They are sent on a mission to rescue some civilians who are trapped at the police station within alien territory. They only have 3 hours to complete their mission and get out before the Air Force bombs that zone."

For the record: The film enjoyed a handful of screen nominations as well as a single win (for composer Brian Tyler).  Talk was strong for some time promising a sequel, but to date there's been no follow-up.

Picture
A star is born ... or is that hatched?  On this day in 2016, Terror Birds laid a SciFi egg for all to see.  The feature starred Jessica Lee Keller and Lindsey Sporrer, and here's the plot summary as provided by IMDB.com:

Picture
On this day in 2016, They Came From The Ether enjoyed its U.S. home video (DVD) debut.  The feature starred Tavis L. Baker and Lindsey Bullen, and here's the plot summary from IMDB.com:

Blinded by his ambition, the salesman open a doorway in which the alien can develop the means to control the human race. It's left to Detective Mike Washburn, who is investigating the missing persons reports, to get to the bottom of the disappearances."

Picture
A star is born!  On this day in 2020, A Quiet Place Part II enjoyed its very first theatrical presentation ever with its silver screen premiere held in New York City, New York.  Written and directed by John Krasinski, the feature brought back Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, and Noah Rupe to the roles they played in the original, and here's the plot summary as provided by IMDB.com:

"Following the events at home, the Abbott family now face the terrors of the outside world. Forced to venture into the unknown, they realize the creatures that hunt by sound are not the only threats lurking beyond the sand path."

For the record:  Though the film premiered for critics and anyone else lucky enough to snag a ticket in 2020, it was withheld from wide release until the following year (2021) due to that dreaded COVID pandemic.  Once various year-long lockdowns were lifted, it was one of the first films to welcome mankind back to the cinemas.

Even more for the record:  If you're interested, then check out SciFiHistory.Net's review of the feature right here.

Let me tell you something: if Kirk takes you by the shirt, then things are in dire straits indeed!  "The Ultimate Computer" pitted Kirk and his crew against an artificial intelligence that would render humans essentially useless on board a starship.  I'd imagine that's what it's working at the Apple Store every day of the week.  The episode first aired on this day in 1968.
