Mind you, I don't cover a lot on the music scene 'round these parts. Frankly, I'm a huge, huge, huge lover of music, but my tastes and yours are likely radically different, so I can't speak even with modest intelligence about the man's library of tunes. What I can tell you is that in 1988's holiday classic Scrooged the guy is damn funny, and that's all that truly matters to me.
A quick glance at his IMDB.com page does have a few other noteworthy genre citations. It looks like he had a part aboard the Tales From The Darkside movie in 1990. I vaguely recall him turning up in 1992's disappointing Freejack. Then, in 2021, it looks like the man lent his pipes to an animated critter aboard TV's Centaurworld. All of those are the stuff fans might be familiar with, so I wanted to highlight those mentions with respect to his work.
Our warmest prayers are extended to the family, friends, and fans of David Johansen.
May he forever rest in peace ...
