Have a great day, people!
I know some folks would say it isn't all that fair to consider 1979's James Bond film Moonraker as a legitimate Sci-Fi film because it's first-and-foremost a spy flick. I suppose that may be true. But I'll stick to my guns, live and let die, and still keep it listed in this space. All you need to do to know more about today's entries is click below.
Have yourself a terrific day! See you tomorrow!
Seriously, how can anyone with solid Geek credentials not love Felicia Day for all that she's done both professionally as well as for general Nerd-dom? For starters, she's put a pretty, wholesome face on our genre, and she's done it in such a way that others are easily endeared to practically anything she touches. I'm just bummed that she hasn't found a major franchise to call all of her own ... well, except those that she's created. Ah, well. Such is life, I suppose.
Anyway, now for the reason that you're ultimately here, eh?
See you on the web!
So far as Sci-Fi goes, there are plenty of things to be thankful for today. Sure, there are plenty of things to be upset about, too (here's looking at you, JJ!), but Sci-Fi fans long ago learned how to take the good with the bad ... and the ugly!
Check it out, and see you tomorrow!
It's certainly not all that uncommon to have some Sci-Fi heavy days alongside some Sci-Fi light days, and that's largely how June 26th has shaped up so far for today's blog: it's light ... but that doesn't make it any less meaningful. Feel free to take yourself a gander when you have a moment, and, as always, share and share alike with friends and family.
See ya tomorrow!
If anyone wanted to, then it would be easy to identify a handful of quirks with Ridley Scott's legendary science fiction classic Blade Runner. For one, the pacing is a bit off. For another, I never quite understood why Sean Young's character so easily became a bit of a corporate 'bad seed.' However, why not instead revel in its glorious, glorious visual excesses? Seriously, has a film ever looked better than this one looks? I dare you to find another.
Enjoy what you can with June 25's sci-fi elements people. Click on that link, if you dare. I'll be back at you tomorrow!
If you're not as learned as I, then you'll have to trust me when I confess that practically the last thing one thinks of when one thinks of Klingons is "sexy." Well, how about downright sultry? Find out why one's impressions of the warrior race changed completely On The Day In Science Fiction History. Also, you'll find out why there was probably plenty of birthday cake to go around on the set of the original Robocop.

You gotta love it when the Walt Disney Company gets into the science fiction business, eh? Granted, The Black Hole wasn't all that it was cracked up to be, but going and making sci-fi all kid-friendly really put "butts in the seats" as they say. The rest? Well, that's history.
Here are June 23's Sci-Fi highlights!
Have a great day, and let's be careful out there!
Naturally, there are aliens ... and then there are Aliens. (Or maybe that should be singular: Alien.)
Check out my listing for June 22, and you'll see that Ridley Scott's original mission into the universe he helped spawn first scared the Bejeezus out of folks on this day back in 1979. Also, there's a lot lot more, including birthdays and another motion picture entry.
Have yourselves a terrific day!
Where were you in the summer of 1985? If you were anything like your average science fiction fan, then you might've been in the theatres taking in what looked like it was potentially shaping up to be one of sci-fi's next franchises: Lifeforce! Well, maybe it didn't exactly look like it was going to be the next big thing, but it did have boobs going for it.
