On this day in 2007 (in the U.S.), Trick'r'Treat enjoyed its big screen debut when it premiered for audiences of the Butt-Numb-A-Thon Film Festival. Written and directed by Michael Dougherty, the Horror/Fantasy starred Brian Cox, Anna Paquin, Dylan Baker, and others.
According to our friends at IMDB.com, here's the plot summary:
"Five Halloween stories: A principal has a secret life, a virgin is looking for her first time, a group of kids pull a prank, a woman who loathes Halloween does not respect the rules and a mean old man meets a demonic trick-or-treater."
For the record:
Along with some positive buzz from screenings on the film festival circuit, Trick'r'Treat was a bit of a darling at the 2010 Fangoria Chainsaw Awards. The picture received a nomination in the category of 'Best Limited-Release / Direct-To-Video Film' -- which it didn't win -- and actor Dylan Baker took home top honors in the category of 'Best Supporting Actor.'
ExtraExtra Alert:
In 2024, I received a new home video release of Trick'r'Treat from a distributor in exchange for review coverage on SciFiHistory.Net. Interested readers can find my thoughts right here.
