So many movies ... so little time ...
On this day in 1972 (in France), passion and Horror came face-to-face for the theatrical release of The Demoniacs (aka Les démoniaques). Written and directed by Jean Rollin, the film starred Joëlle Coeur, Patricia Hermenier, John Rico, and others.
According to our friends at IMDB.com, here's the plot summary:
"A gang of pirates rape the two sole survivors of a ship wreck. The violated girls are rescued by the strange inhabitants of a supposedly haunted island, where they are granted supernatural powers to strike revenge against the pirates."
Editor's Note:
Despite some diligent searching, I've been unable to locate a promotional trailer for the film. This isn't necessarily all that uncommon given the fact that it appears to be a smaller / independent production which likely had very little advertising anywhere.
