On this day in 1974 (in Canada), Black Christmas (aka Silent Night, Evil Night) rang in the holidays in bloody spectacular fashion. Directed by Bob Clark from a story by Roy Moore, the film starred Olivia Hussey, Keir Dullea, Margot Kidder, and others.

- At the 1976 Saturn Awards, Black Christmas received a nomination in the category of 'Best Horror Film.'

- At the 1975 Canadian Film Awards, Black Christmas took home three bigs wins in the categories of 'Best Editing (Feature),' 'Best Sound Editing (Feature),' and 'Best Performance By A Lead Actress' for Margot Kidder.
