From Google.com:
Eradication (2022) is a somber post-apocalyptic horror-thriller directed by Daniel Byers and co-written with its star, Harry Aspinwall. It follows David, an asymptomatic carrier of a deadly virus that has wiped out most of the world's population. Kept in strict wilderness quarantine, his only contact is via Zoom with his epidemiologist wife, Sam, who studies his blood in search of a cure. [1, 2, 3]
Plot Summary
After two years of isolated, regimented quarantine, David starts to suspect that the reality of his situation is being hidden from him. Fearing for his wife's safety, he breaks quarantine and ventures out. He discovers that the world outside his cabin has been completely overrun by flesh-eating monsters. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
As he navigates the dangers, David uncovers a dark, selfish truth about his wife's research and the shadowy "Eradication Control Center". The harrowing mystery culminates in twists involving the true nature of his blood and Sam's hidden agenda—revolving around the survival of those infected. [6, 7, 8]
Reviews and Production
Filmed on a low budget during the actual COVID-19 pandemic, the 87-minute film leans heavily into the themes of isolation, loneliness, and survival. It was praised for effectively using its confined, single-location setting to build a tense, atmospheric mystery with unique twists on the classic zombie apocalypse genre. [1, 2, 3, 9]
