On this day in 2013 (in the Czech Republic), A Field In England enjoyed its theatrical unveiling when it was first screened for audiences of the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival. Written (in part) and directed by Ben Wheatley, the film starred Julian Barratt, Peter Ferdinando, Ryan Pope, and others.

"Amid the Civil War in 17th-century England, a group of deserters flee from battle through an overgrown field. Captured by an alchemist, the men are forced to help him search to find a hidden treasure that he believes is buried in the field."

To the film's credit, A Field In England enjoyed a good amount of praise from screenings on the film festival circuit.
