On this day in 1977 (in the U.S.), the good people of Bismarck, North Dakota were treated to the exclusive theatrical debut of Ruby. Directed by Curtis Harrington from a story by George Edwards, Steve Krantz, and Barry Schneider, the film starred Piper Laurie, Stuart Whitman, Roger Davis, and others.

"Sixteen years after Ruby Claire's gangster boyfriend was shot and killed by four associates, a series of gruesome murders takes place at the drive-in movie theatre she now owns.
