A DESERT is a sun-bleached neo-noir horror film about time, the chaos of our world, and the relevance of images in the cultural desert we are faced with today.
With music by Ty Segall whose new album Possession comes out May 30th, A DESERT stars David Yow (Dinner in America, I Don't Feel at Home in This World Anymore), Kai Lennox (Green Room, The Girl from Plainville), Sarah Lind (A Wounded Fawn, Die, My Love), Zachary Ray Sherman (Under the Banner of Heaven, The CW's 90210) and Ashley B. Smith (Off Ramp, Extremity).

"Had a great time with this one!" - INDIEWIRE
"It’s a nightmare that burrows under one’s skin like a virus (or a curse), and it heralds its creator as a bracing new genre-filmmaking voice." - DAILY BEAST
"Erkman has made a distinctly eerie and sinister debut that succeeds at sneaking into the depths of your subconscious." - COLLIDER
"Incredibly impressed!" - RUE MORGUE
"There’s no hand holding or easy answers in this genre-bender, but its richly textured world and morally complex characters ensure an unpredictable voyage worth taking." - BLOODY DISGUSTING
"Loved the film. Made me feel the worst in a long time - and that’s a compliment. The bastard love child of Psycho and Twentynine Palms. I liked that the film treats the viewer as grown ups, and is like a [messed] up choose your own adventures for sickos.” - AWFJ
"I really enjoyed. Joshua Erkman’s metacinematic feature debut is an elegiac neo-noir located where photography, pornography and geology cross paths." - PROJECTED FIGURES
