On this day in 1973 (in the U.S.), Charley And The Angel opened up its doors for some heavenly theatrical business. Directed by Vincent McEveety from a story by Will Stanton and Roswell Rogers, the film starred Fred MacMurray, Cloris Leachman, Harry Morgan, and others.
According to our friends at IMDB.com, here's the plot summary:
"Charley is a workaholic family man who finds out from an angel that his "number's up" and he will be dying soon, so he tries to change his ways and be a better husband and father with the time he has left."
For the record:
At the 1974 Golden Globes, actress Cloris Leachman received a nomination in the category of 'Best Actress In A Motion Picture - Comedy Or Musical.'
