On this day in Italy all the way back in the year 1966, The Murder Clinic first opened its door for business ... well, theatrical business, that is.
IMDB.com has this one classified as a Giallo Horror with a bit of the usual Mystery thrown in for good measure. The directors were Elio Scardamaglia (1920-2001) and Lionell De Felice (1916-1989). The script shows credited to Ernesto Gastaldi and Luciano Martino who apparently adapted it from their original novel. Curiously, IMDB.com also indicates that some additional dialogue was provided to the project by Albert G. Miller and R. Wayland Williams.
As for the screen talent?
Among those giving it the ol' Thespian try were such names as William Berger, Françoise Prévost, Mary Young, Barbara Wilson, Philippe Hersent, Harriet Medin, Germano Longo, Massimo Righi, Delfi Mauro, Anna Maria Polani, and others.
Here's the plot summary as provided by our friends at IMDB.com:
"People are found murdered at an isolated mental hospital and a hooded figure is seen stalking the halls. The dean of the hospital cannot afford a police investigation due to his shady past n his ongoing experiments. While the dean is busy experimenting skin grafting on animals, his wife gets concerned when a beautiful guest arrives and her arrival threatens to jeopardize everything."
