You've heard the saying, "War is Hell."
Well, what if the war you suddenly found yourself fighting wasn't even of your own choice?
That appears to be the quandary at the heart of Paradox Soldiers (aka My iz budushchego 2) which was first released on this day in 2010 both in Kazakhstan and Russia. Curiously enough, the film shows to have had three directors -- Aleksandr Samokhvalov, Dimitriy Voronkov, and Oleg Pogodin -- but only a single screenwriter -- Aleksandr Shevtsov; but I'm at a loss as to say why. There are indications, however, that the project is intended as a sequel to 2008's We Are From The Future, so perhaps this was something completed in process (???). Perhaps we'll never know. The cast includes such names as Igor Petrenko, Aleksey Barabash, Ekaterina Klimova, Semyon Belotserkovskiy, Dmitriy Dyachuk, Ivan Krasko, and others.
Here's the plot summary as provided by the good people at IMDB.com:
"Two young Russian historians are going to Ukraine to take part in the reconstruction of the Lvov-Sandomierz operation in July 1944. On sight they fall into conflict with Ukrainian nationalists, and some magical twist of fate, move into the middle of real warfare from more than 60 years. Miraculously avoiding death at the hands of Ukrainian nationalists, caught in the middle of fighting between the Red Army and the Nazis."
Also, for those of you who like that sort of thing, I'm posting the theatrical trailer below. You know what to do about that.
As always, thanks for reading ... thanks for sharing ... thanks for being a fan ... and live long and prosper!
